Days full of adventure from dawn to sunset
While staying in our beautiful area at McLean Falls Eco Holiday Park and Motels, we can promise you that your day will be full of adventure - from dawn to sunset. Sight-seeing, wildlife, what ever you wish to see. Don't make the mistake of traveling through and missing one of New Zealand’s' best kept secrets.
There are many activities within a short a distance of the Catlins McLean Falls Eco Holiday Park. You can enjoy the majestic Cathedral Caves which is viewed at low tide and only 5 minutes away from us. During your stay you may enjoy a walk to the famous McLean Falls, described by many people as an awe inspiring experience of New Zealand nature. The walk to the McLean Falls is shrouded in bush, and can be enjoyed any time of the day.
Other options include the Tautuku Estuary Board Walk to view the estuary and native wildlife and birds or a self – guided walk to beautiful, tranquil Lake Wilkie. The Lake Wilkie walk is interpretive; as you wander you can read about the changing forest environment. The Tautuku Beach Walk encompasses a walk through the Catlins native bush emerging to a spectacular view of the expansive, sparkling blue Pacific Ocean. You may continue your stroll along the vast, unspoiled, fine sandy beach often in total solitude or you may wish to just sit and watch the Great Southern Ocean from the honey-coloured sand dunes.
